Last January 3, 2026, the courts at Davao Pickleball Courts, Matina Town Square came alive with color, cheers, and friendly rivalry as the JVA Group of Companies hosted its 1st Intercolor Pickleball Tournament. What started as a fun gathering quickly turned into an exciting day of competition, bonding, and pure pickleball energy.
The tournament featured four intercolor teams—Blue, Red, Green, and White—made up of participants from the JVA Group of Companies along with their families and close friends. True to JVA’s values, the event wasn’t just about winning points, but about strengthening relationships and celebrating community through sport.
Played in a modified Major League Pickleball (MLP) format, the matches struck a perfect balance between friendly play and intense competition. Laughter and encouragement echoed across the courts early in the day, but as the games progressed, the competitive fire was unmistakable. Every rally mattered, every point was earned, and every team brought their best.
Under the direction of Tournament Director Noel Jan Te, and organized by Mark Villorente and Jacobo Ayala (Selkirk Advocate), the event ran smoothly while keeping the atmosphere fun, inclusive, and well-spirited.
After a full day of action, the final standings were:
- 🥇 Green Team – Overall Champions
- 🥈 Red Team – 1st Runner-Up
- 🥉 Blue Team – 2nd Runner-Up
- 🏅 White Team – 3rd Runner-Up
More than the results, the tournament reflected the core values of the JVA Group of Companies—family, camaraderie, hard work, and community. Teammates cheered each other on, families watched from the sidelines, and friendships were strengthened both on and off the court.
The success of the 1st JVA Intercolor Pickleball Tournament marks an exciting start to what could become a meaningful tradition for the organization. With pickleball continuing to grow in Davao, events like this show how sport can bring people together in the best way possible.
Here’s to more rallies, more colors, and more moments that bring the JVA community closer—see you at the next one 🏓💙❤️💚🤍
